Jabiru J250-SP -- "Puffin"
$135/hr (dry)

About Jabiru:
Jabiru has been in the business of aircraft since 1988, and started out producing light aircraft kits. They also added their own engine starting in 1995, and have been manufacturing both together in Queensland, Australia. The classic, simple boxer engine is horizontally opposed, 6-cylinder, air-cooled, and direct-drive. Though the LSA certification limits to 1,320 lbs max gross takeoff, all Jabiru aircraft are stressed to 7G at 1,540 lbs and integrate an Occupant Protection Capsule to protect you and your precious cargo. The capsule is a specifically designed structure that is well-engineered and field proven to deflect energy away from its core, protecting the occupants. This is supported by the robust landing gear, made of more than 80 layers of unidirectional fiberglass, all of which has been time-tested in the Australian Outback, and around the planet, for decades.

About the Aircraft:

Puffin is an excellent cross-country flier with plenty of room for baggage. Her spacious cabin spans 44in (112cm), and boasts leather seats, cabin heat, and fresh air cabin vents for four-season flying. She is Light Sport Aircraft certificated, with the added bonus of being equipped for night VFR. Puffin got her name from the bird that both flies and swims, as her owner is an avid private pilot and scuba diver. Her family is delighted to bring this aircraft into our fleet to share the joy of aviation!

About the Aircraft:
As a J230-D, Juliet is the flagship LSA model in a long lineage of Jabiru aircraft, and the epitome of long-haul luxury -- her full “human-size” third door is large enough to enter and allows for effortless loading into the spacious cargo area, while her 360° blue window tinting and dimming panel lights make her a great fit for both day and night VFR operations. Outside the aircraft, the aerodynamic enhancements of her wings and tail create nearly effortless coordinated handling. Juliet qualifies as a Technically Advanced Aircraft per 14 CFR 61.129(j), and her "carbon face" instrument panel and touchscreen display add to the leading-edge atmosphere.
